Digital Images (Nikon Coolpix 990)

Moon
8/14/02 Half full. Digital camera afocally coupled to 40mm Plössl lens for this image. Closeup on Mare Serenitatis. 26mm Meade 3000 Super Plössl.

Moon
8/14/02 Mostly full, but some craters are visible on the left near the terminator. 40mm Plössl. Closer view. The craters are a bit easier to see in this view. 26mm Meade Super Plössl. Mare Humorum, Mare Nubium, and Southern reaches of Oceanus Procellarum 26mm.

Moon
8/02/03 A crescent moon with nice detail in shadows along the terminator. Unfortunately the Moon was pretty low in the sky, so seeing was a bit wobbly, but I was able to clean up the image in Photoshop to some extent. A central peak in a large crater along the terminator was visible in the eyepiece but did not show up in the digital camera, unfortunately.

Traditional Film Photographs (Minolta Maxxum 7)

Cygnus and the Milky Way
8/10/02 10 minute exposure (labeled in Adobe Photoshop), Camera piggy-back mounted. Telescope and Telrad finder visible. Hypered Fuji 800 color print film from Lumicon. 20 minute exposure, which might have been pushing it a bit. Vignetting details cropped out.
